Documentation of Teaching Activities

I am a mentor to both my students and colleagues.  As a Preceptor to the nursing students my role is to facilitate the Nursing Educator students’ achievement of the end of program competencies. Preceptors must be able to facilitate the students’ ability to learn and practice in the NE role. My connection with my former students is evident in some of their reference letters and the communications that they have sent me throughout the years. I was a Preceptor teaching NU 690 and NU 691: CAPSTONE.

NU 690 : Nursing Edu Role Pract.

Semester: Modules All Semesters All Years

Year Taught:     2019

This is the first course in the nursing sequence for the role immersion experience in nursing education. Students apply and analyze the theories, competencies, and concepts of the previous courses in a designated role practicum experience using a preceptor. Through this experience, the student will develop an evidence-based improvement teaching project. Current issues and trends in health care and nursing are integrated within each topical area. A practicum experience, that may involve direct patient care, is a required part of this course. This course is an education elective 3-credit course for the PM DNP Hybrid Program student. Prerequisite: NU 619 Prerequisite: Take NU-588 NU-589 NU 619 NU-605 and NU-575 or NU-475

NU 691: CAPSTONE: Nurse Educator

Mentoring Fellow Educators

Successfully working with two new faculty and addressing course content, test item updates, item analysis, and exam analysis and revision along with working with the clinical adjuncts and lab instructors to meet the needs of the students was an honor.
